OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide financial support and resources for women in effective complementary and alternative cancer treatments. We do not recommend or endorse any specific treatment.
CORE VALUES
1. We acknowledge that there are many paths to healing from cancer.
2. Choice in health care is a fundamental human right. Treatment aimed at saving a life should not devastate the resources of any individual or family.
3. We support the restoration of body, mind, heart and spirit.
FROM THE FOUNDER
The Emerald Heart Cancer Foundation was incorporated in March, 2010, as a result of personal experience. In my own journey to heal from breast cancer, an unusual medical history ruled out the possibility of conventional care, and I had no choice but to seek alternative treatment. When financial stress became a real & significant obstacle to recovery, I found no organizations that could help financially if an individual was not undergoing traditional treatment. It's the vision of this foundation to help ensure that women in effective complementary & alternative medicine (CAM) cancer treatments have the financial support they need in order to heal.
Please consider a donation to help launch our mission. Most organizations fund research, a few help with conventional treatment --but there are women TODAY in effective CAM treatments (many soundly evidence-based, almost none covered by insurance) who must have financial assistance in order to continue. With your donation, you will be directly helping to save women's lives now. We will be giving grants to financially qualified women as soon as we are capable of doing so. 1. Two additional passionate, energetic individuals with fundraising expertise for our BOARD OF DIRECTORS. This is an opportunity to help launch and develop a new and evolving charity.
2. VOLUNTEERS (anywhere) to help grow the foundation, plan events & conduct community networking. Passion is more important than experience.
